| The origin |
At the very beginning there was no idea of an scenario like that we created later. I just felt the need to do something I've never done before. I wanted to make new experiences and break out of the standards of studio photography. I've been amazed by all those composings, photographic and cinematographic works with its epic, emotional or non-real character out there. So I started to think about possible projects combining photographic and "artificial" issues. |

| Thanks, H.G. ;-) |
After spending a lot of - sometimes funny - thoughts I finally got my kickin' inspiration from the great H.G. Wells and his timeless and genious work "War of the Worlds", written in 1898 (see Wikipedia for more info). As a matter of fact Wells' novel gave the plot for many productions and formats before. The one that influenced my work - visually - the most is the movie of 1953. Newer adaptions are way to affected by that modern blockbuster style - full of action but less in concept... |

| Far to go, from here... |
Okay, there is an idea. But what to do now? Slowly I got the feeling that this would be really ambitious. And while concentrating on realisation the project indeed developed some kind of self dynamic. I involved a friend of mine to exercise on storyboards. So we drawed out the visual appearance. For the necessary 3d-artwork (to bring up some realism) I concerned my talented ad agency collegue. The location had to be organized and last - but of course not least - enthusiastic models, ACTORS!, were to be casted. |

| Going for the challenge | Okay, maybe many would lough about that - if you got the needed capabilities and "change"...but we simply had nothing you can call a budget. So the success was extremely bound to the force of everey involved individual. Thanks for your ambition, from that point !!! | |
| Pre production and Shooting | Summed up the prearrangement took about one month, including location and model/actor scouting, storyboarding, organisation of an working infra structure (from power supply to catering) etc... We shooted on 28th of October for a hole day. | |
| Post production | Of course, from here it went time-killing. There is nothing to say about the time and effort of preparing the images, rendering stuff and the composing itself. Particularly because of my job at the ad agency... :-) | |
| Everything has an end... |
Now, it's done and post took about 2 month of work. At the very end I just want to thank all participants for their work and ambition to make this project possible! It really was a great experience for me and I'm glad having met all those nice people. It was a pleasure to work togehter!!! |
